British Christmas Markets are overcrowded and pretty chilly. The alternative is to come to Majorca as quick as possible! Although beach weather is over, the temperatures are still pleasant and the sun is still shining. Majorca offers perfect weather to stroll on the small but beautiful Christmas markets in December.
The shops of Palma have already started to decorate their windows with Christmas decorations.
From December, 4th, the Christmas lights, which were generously put throughout Palma, will gleam. At the same time Christmas markets open on Plaza Mayor, Plaza España, Via Roma and the Ramblas. On some days there will be parades and entertainment for the kids. In addition, numerous nativity scenes will be sold at Christmas markets in Palma.
The highlight of the festivities in Spain is achieved on the 6th of January,when the Three Holy Kings traditionally bring the presents. Many families now celebrate both, Santa Claus and the Three Holy Kings.
Advice: December, 7th, 8th, 25th and 26th and january, 1st and 6th are bank holidays in Majorca. Shops remain closed at these days. In return shops are open on the Sundays of the 6th, 20th and 27th of December.
