In Palma de Mallorca you have a great choice of activities, Christmas markets, nativity sets, concerts and street entertainment for Christmas.
There will be a solidarity market for Es Refugi from December, 11th to December, 13th in the Casal Balaguer (Cultural Centre, C/ Unió 3, Palma). In Plaza de España and Plaza Mayor there will be again the traditional Christmas markets until the day of the Three Magi (January, 6th).
In Pueblo Español you can visit the Articulated Nativity Scene. The Napolitan Nativity Scene of the XVIII century can be visited in the Palau March, another Nativity Scene in the church Sant Antoniet. Worth a visit is the traditional Nativity Scene in the entrance of the town hall of Palma, the Contemporary Nativity Scene in Can Marquès and many more in the Caputxines Convent. A paper one can be seen in the Mallorca Museum.
On December, 20th there are different street parades by the Wonderbrass Group or of the Folk Dance schools. On New Year’s Eve there will be a dance and midnight celebration in the Plaza Cort and on January, 6th the Three Magi Parade in Palma.
There is a wide choice for concerts. On December, 20th at 9pm you can listen to the traditional Christmas Concert in the Auditorium of Palma offered by various groups and artists. On December, 21st at 7pm a Christmas Concert takes place in the Auditorium of the Conservatori Superior de Música de Balears. On the same day, at 9:30pm in the Basilica de Sant Frances there will be given a Christmas Concert of the Fundació La Caixa offered by the group Gabrieli Consort & Players with works by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. On December, 22nd at 8pm the Camerata Sa Nostra will give a Christmas Concert in the Auditorium of the Cultural Centre Sa Nostra.
Between December, 17th and 21st there is a series of Christmas Concerts that will take place in the Plaza España: the Palma Municipal Band of Music, the Musical Group of Camp Redó and the S’Almudaina Band of Music. On December, 22nd will be held carol concerts in the street in different parts of the city, ending with a special concert at 9pm in the church Santa Eulalia. A must-be is a Gospel Concert by the group The Sisters on December, 27th at 7pm in the town hall entrance, on December, 28th at 8pm at the Cultural Centre of s’Escorxador and on December, 29th at 8pm in the church Sant Antoniet.
